Welcome Jim Landers, Head Golf Professional and General Manager
The Board of Governors and Search Committee are pleased to welcome Jim Landers as the new Head Golf Professional and General Manager at Nabnasset Lake Country Club effective March 1, 2010. Jim comes to NLCC most recently from Marlborough Country Club, where he held the position of Assistant Golf Professional. In this capacity, Jim was responsible for all golf and business operations including tournaments, merchandising and membership. Jim is a Class A Member with the PGA. Jim also spent time during the winter months in Florida as the Head of Golf Operations at the Grand Cypress Resort and prior to this as a Senior Executive with BFI where he managed a staff of 300. He also was Owner-Operator at Golf-it driving range in Ashland.
In his role at NLCC, Jim will be responsible for managing all the day-to-day activities of the Club, including the Pro shop, golf course, tournaments, Members lounge, and overall financial management. He is responsible for working with staff and operating the course per the budget established by the BOG and approved at our Annual meeting.
The importance of this role is significant as we continue to deal with the following issues and recent changes at the Club:
- Increased competition to attract new members and retain existing members
- Maximizing the investment the Club has made in the members lounge
- Significantly improve the revenue generated by the Function Hall
- Aging capital equipment and infrastructure
Please join us in welcoming Jim to our NLCC family. Jim’s first day will be Monday, March 1st and he will work with Dave Harne during his transition into NLCC over the following month.
We will be holding a welcome hors d oeuvres and cocktails event for Jim on Friday, March 26th in the Function Hall and invite all NLCC members to join us that evening to meet Jim prior to our 2010 season.
Sincerely,
The BOG
